iPad Air (2021), Procreate, Apple Pencil 2

brushes

DEFAULT: Round Brush, Script, Soft BrushI use a custom brush for lineart / sketching!

iPad Pro or iPad Air?

(I've had so many people ask me this, both IRLs and people following my art account, I might as well just put this here LOL)It depends on what you're going to be using it for! If it's for creative projects that require high processing power and better screen/camera quality such as filmmaking or music-making, an iPad Pro may be better, but for general purposes an iPad Air is more than good enough, especially since it also has a longer battery life!

how do you draw so fast?

I used to be the slowest artist in existence, but I had to adapt to fit my busy af schedule or I'd never be able to post anything ever again lolBut if there's one thing I've learned, it's do NOT spend forever doing lineart for the smallest details, because you're wasting hours of your time on details no one will see.

how do you improve in art?

(aside from just telling people to "practice more", which you still have to do obviously, but that's not all there is to it)Set goals for yourself! Identify strengths and weaknesses in your own art, and figure out how to push those strengths and work on those weaknesses! (How do I use color more effectively? How do I make my line art more fluid? How can I make my poses more dynamic?)Consume more art! Look at your favorite artists' work, study the techniques they used (e.g. line quality, color choices, brushstrokes, textures etc.), and try to incorporate that into your own work! Take inspiration from as many sources as you can find, but do not copy or only use a single artist as inspiration.Practice your fundamentals! Experiment with your style! Try new things! Step out of your comfort zone! Just doing the exact same thing over and over again without learning anything new in the process will not help you improve faster! With time, you will eventually find a style and an art process that works naturally for you!Art blocks are inevitable! When it happens, take breaks and explore other hobbies in the meantime! Pushing yourself too hard at times like this will only result in burnouts, and that is never a good thing. Stick to small sketches to avoid stagnating, or draw some self-indulgent things, and by doing that you might even be able to come up with a cool idea that can help you break free from your art block.

  • Please fill out the Commission Ordering Form linked at the bottom of this page.

  • You will get a reply from me discussing the details (if needed) as well as confirming your slot.

  • Should all my slots already be taken, I will offer you a spot on the waitlist which you can back out of at any time without repercussions before I officially confirm your slot.

  • If your requested character is extremely detailed, I have the right to charge a fee to include these details. This fee will be stated before the transaction, and you hold the right to make changes to your commission request (eg. change the character, agree to simplified design changes) before the transaction is complete.

  • Please ensure your request is easy to read! Use punctuation!!

  • Any emails, private messages, and comments that you send must come in English or Chinese (preferably English).

  • I will send you a rough sketch of the commission, and if you are satisfied, I will guide you through the payment process. Full payment must be made before I continue to work on the sketch.

  • You will need to confirm the payment with me before I continue working on your order.

payment

  • All payments will be handled via Ko-Fi unless otherwise discussed.

  • I am not responsible for any mistakes made by you over the course of the transaction, so please make sure to double-check and pay the correct amount.

  • All prices listed on my commission pricing guide, as well as my Ko-Fi page, are in USD. You are responsible for making currency conversions.

  • I accept payments in USD by default. If you wish to pay in AUD instead, this can also be discussed.

  • It is expected that you pay the full price upfront before I work on anything beyond a quick sketch. No exceptions unless otherwise discussed.

  • I will initiate the transaction to avoid accidental transactions. Do not send me any kind of payment until I have confirmed I can accept your commission AND have asked for payment.

  • If payment is not made within 24 hours of me approving your commission, the commission will be cancelled.

  • Repeated counts of commissioning a project and failing to pay may result in blacklisting.

refunds

  • No refunds will be given unless I, the artist, have to cancel the project for any given reason, in which case I will reimburse the lost fees and refund 100%.

working speed

  • I usually take up to 24 hours to respond to your initial order inquiry, depending on how many other inquiries I have been receiving. Should I not respond to you within this timeframe, please feel free to contact me and inform me of your order, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

  • You reserve the right to set a deadline for your commission. This deadline must be disclosed prior to payment.

  • I have the right to decline a project if there is too short of a time allowance. At a minimum, I reserve the right to take at least 2-6 weeks to work on said project, depending on its size.

  • Please do not send reminders or rush me, especially if you have not previously informed me of a deadline.

  • If due dates are discussed, it is also the clients' responsibility to ensure prompt communication. I will not be held responsible for late delivery.

  • No harassment over my work speed will be tolerated, regardless of the time that has passed.

  • You reserve the right to be notified of any delays.

rush fee

  • Rush fees will enable your commission to be prioritized and bring you forward in the queue by a significant amount (est. completion time: 3-14 days).

  • Rush fees will incur a price increase of 25-200% the original price, depending on the size of the project and the timeframe provided.

  • For safe, please place your order AT LEAST 7 days before your required deadline.

revisions and feedback

  • I will provide weekly updates (more if it is a rush order) with screenshots of the work-in-progress.

  • You are free to request a WIP at any given time. However, I will only fulfill one(1) request per week (Monday-Sunday).

  • It is up to you, the commissioner, to ensure your order contains the details you want me to follow. I am not responsible for any unsatisfactory element of the finished design if no feedback was given to amend it.

  • Up to two major revisions can be made during the drafting phase of the commission. Only minor adjustments within reason can be made afterwards.

  • Each time I send a WIP to a client, I ask the client to provide feedback to me.

  • Should the commissioner wish to make major changes after I have already started working on the piece (e.g. requesting a completely different character / scenario), there will be an additional depending on the progress I have already made with the illustration.

  • After the order is completed, minor changes such as color adjustments are allowed if the missing or inaccurate elements are my fault (e.g. I overlooked details provided in the request).

  • Any changes requested after the commission has already been deemed complete by both parties will result in additional fees.

  • I will not redraw a completed commission unless payment is received for a separate order.

final product

  • There may be slight differences between the samples in my gallery and the illustration you will receive.

  • The commissioner must respect that my artistic style cannot be altered.

  • I reserve the right to reject critiques pertaining to artistic skill and stylization, and/or if the critique reduces the artistic quality of the piece.

  • Credit to me, the artist, is required when you post or use it on another platform.

  • You, the client, are responsible for saving any information, images, and other digital data I provide, as I cannot guarantee that I will permanently keep all the commissioned artworks on my devices and shared files.

  • I am not required to post your project in any public space, and if posted, I am not required to keep it there indefinitely. I have the right to delete or remove any public project, even if you paid for it, as you should have your own copy for personal use.

  • Feedback of the final product is permitted after completion of the piece, through private messages or comments.

  • Any comments that are rude, inappropriate, inflammatory, and/or non-constructive may result in blacklisting.
